## Test Matrix

| Material | What to Test | Pass Criteria |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Metal | hard highlight, cool shadow, edge hits | recognized at 50% scale |
| Leather | soft highlight, warm shadow, creases | not confused with fabric |
| Cloth | broad clusters, low specular response | folds read without noise |
| Rubber | muted highlight, thick darks | reads flexible and durable |
| Stone | chipped clusters, low saturation | not over-detailed |
| Energy | glow core, rim light, transparency cue | direction and source are readable |

## Study Rules

- Use the Material Rendering Bible as the only rendering source.
- Test material on a neutral silhouette first.
- Test material against the intended palette.
- Reject materials that require isolated pixels to read.
